Enniscrone
is one of the most rapidly developing family holiday seaside resorts
in the North West region and has many fine attractions which continue
to bring an increasing number of tourists into the area each year.
|
|
The Moy river,
renowned world-wide by all serious salmon and trout anglers, flows
into the sea at Enniscrone. The Moy Estuary is a favourite location
for boating and sea trout fishing and also gives access by boat
to Ballina town.
Deep
sea angling is also a major attraction on the bay, either by boat
from Enniscrone pier, or surfcasting along the beaches.
|
|
Enniscrone
also boasts Enniscrone Golf Club, acknowledged as one of the best
golf course in Ireland. This is a superb 18 hole links course which
was the venue for the 1993 Irish Close Championships and the 1997
and 1998 West of Ireland championships.

| Other
town attractions for tourists include Enniscrone's famous Seaweed
Baths, the interesting local Pitch & Putt course and also the
town's various bars and restaurants. Enniscrone is also a focal point
for a wide variety of wonderful walks, both shoreline and inland.
|
A
further MAJOR ADDITION to Enniscrone's tourist facilities is the
Waterpoint Centre, opened in April 1998, which provides an indoor
swimming pool, fun water slide, kiddies pool, sauna and activity
room.
This development
has provided an all-weather facility to the resort which will add
tremendously to it's attractiveness throughout the season and which
will also have the effect of extending the duration of that season
in real terms.
